| Service | 50 minutes | 75 minutes | 90 minutes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free consult | Free (15 min) | — | — |

| Relationship counselling | $185 | $255 | $306 |
| Hormone Readiness Assessment | — | — | $300 |
All fees are in Canadian dollars and are the same for every counsellor at the clinic.
Fees reflect the training and responsibilities involved in providing counselling, as well as the cost of running a clinic that supports ethical and sustainable care. Relationship sessions are priced slightly higher because more than one person is being held in the room, and because the planning between sessions is heavier.
Most people book 50 minute weekly or biweekly sessions. Longer sessions exist for the times when 50 minutes is not enough — deeper trauma work, relationship sessions, or any session where you want more room. You can move between lengths as your needs change.
Any fee change will be communicated clearly and well in advance, and will never apply to a session you have already booked. We do not currently offer sliding scale or reduced-fee sessions.
The initial free consult
Every person who books here starts with a free 15 minute consult by video. There is no charge, no card required, and no obligation to book anything afterwards.
How payment works
A credit card is held securely on file in our booking system and charged after each session. Your card details are stored by our payment processor, not by us, and no one at the clinic can see your full card number.
Your receipt is emailed automatically as soon as the payment goes through. It includes everything an insurer normally asks for: your counsellor’s name and registration number, the date of the session, the service provided, and the amount paid.
If a card is declined, we will let you know and ask you to update it in the booking system before your next session.
Is there tax on top of the fee?
No. Counselling therapy provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor is exempt from GST, so the fee you see is the fee you pay.
Insurance and receipts
Coverage varies a great deal by province, insurer, and plan. Before your first session, it is worth calling your insurer and asking three questions: does my plan cover a Registered Clinical Counsellor, does it cover virtual sessions, and does it cover sessions delivered by a counsellor registered in another province (if you are located outside of BC).
If your insurer needs extra information, just ask us!
Cancellation policy
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to change or cancel an appointment. You can do this yourself in the booking system or by emailing us.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, and missed appointments, are charged the full session fee. Insurers do not reimburse late cancellation fees.
If something genuinely unavoidable comes up — illness, an emergency, a crisis — tell us! We may be able to reduce or waive the cancellation fee on a case by case basis.
If you are running late
Join whenever you can. The session still ends at its scheduled time, because the hour after yours usually belongs to someone else, and the full fee applies. If you have not joined 20 minutes in and we have not heard from you, we will treat the session as missed.
If we have to cancel
If your counsellor has to cancel or reschedule, for any reason and with any amount of notice, you are never charged. We will offer you the earliest replacement time we have.
Taking a break or stopping
You can pause or end counselling at any time and you do not owe us an explanation. The only thing we ask is that you cancel any sessions already in the calendar with 24 hours’ notice so the cancellation fee does not apply.
Booking and scheduling
You can book your own appointments online, including the free consult. After the first session, you are welcome to pick a regular time that your counsellor can reserve for you in advance. All times are shown in your own time zone.
Most people meet weekly or every other week to begin with, and we review that together as things change. There is no minimum number of sessions and no package you have to commit to.
Sessions are held by secure video on a Canadian-hosted platform. You will get a link by email and you do not need to install anything. Please join from a private space where you can speak freely.
Contact between sessions
Email is for scheduling, fees, and admin. We usually reply within one to two business days.
Please do not send detailed clinical or personal information by email. Email is not a secure channel, and a session is a much better place for that conversation. We are not able to provide counselling by email or text between sessions.
Confidentiality and your records
What you say in session stays between you and your counsellor. Your file is stored in a secure, Canadian-hosted practice management system, and sessions are held over encrypted video.
There are a small number of legal limits to confidentiality, and we will go through them with you in your first session: risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, a child or vulnerable adult at risk, and a court order or subpoena.
Because sessions are virtual, we ask for an emergency contact. This is standard for online counselling and it is only ever used in a genuine emergency.
You are entitled to request a copy of your own records. If you would like your file transferred to another provider, we have a process for that and we will walk you through i
Our limitations
We do not work with children or youth. We do not provide crisis or emergency services and we do not monitor email or voicemail outside business hours. We do not prescribe medication, and we do not provide custody, court-ordered, or forensic assessments. We do not bill insurers directly, and we do not currently offer sliding scale or reduced-fee sessions.
If you need something we do not offer, tell us at the consult and we will try to point you somewhere useful.
Rates and policies FAQ
Do I have to pay for the consult?
No. The consult is free, lasts about 15-20 minutes, and no card details are needed to book. If you decide not to go ahead, that is completely fine and there is nothing to pay.
Is there tax on top of the fee?
No. Counselling therapy provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor is exempt from GST, so the fee you see is the fee you pay.
When am I charged?
After each session, to the card held on file in our booking system. Nothing is charged in advance, and your receipt is emailed to you automatically once the payment goes through.
Can I pay another way?
Card on file is our standard because it keeps admin out of the therapy hour. If that is a barrier for you, raise it at the consult and we will see what we can do.
Do you bill my insurance company directly?
No. You pay for the session and we email you a receipt with everything an insurer normally asks for, which you submit yourself. Most plans reimburse within a couple of weeks.
Will my insurance cover this?
Often, but not always. Ask your insurer whether your plan covers a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), whether it covers virtual sessions, and whether it covers a counsellor registered in BC.
Do you offer sliding scale or reduced-fee sessions?
Not at the moment, but we would like to in the future! We are a small clinic and we are not yet in a position to subsidize sessions sustainably.
If cost is the barrier, tell us at the consult anyway. We keep track of lower-cost options across the regions we serve, including community agencies and training clinics, and we are glad to point you toward them.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Less than that, or a missed session, is charged the full fee, and insurers do not reimburse it. If something genuinely unavoidable happens, tell us — we look at those case by case.
What if I am running late?
Join whenever you can, and give us a heads up if you can! The session will still end at its scheduled time and the full fee applies.
What if my counsellor cancels?
You are not charged, ever, no matter how much notice we were able to give you. We will offer you the earliest replacement time we have.
What if my internet drops out mid-session?
Reconnect using the same link. If it will not hold, we will finish by phone or rebook the rest of the time, and you will not be charged twice for a session that technology interrupted.
Can I change how long or how often my sessions are?
Yes. Sessions come in 50, 75, and 90 minutes, and people move between them as their needs change.
Do you write letters, reports, or assessments?
We offer hormone readiness assessments. We do not provide custody, court-ordered, or forensic assessments. For anything else, ask — some requests we can help with and some we cannot, just ask.
